Magnesium Float Therapy

Magnesium floats, also known as sensory deprivation tanks or floatation therapy, offer a unique and powerful way to relax both the body and mind. The magnesium pod contains warm water infused with over 500kg of Epsom salt, creating a buoyant environment that effortlessly supports your body. This high salt concentration reduces pressure on your muscles and joints, allowing them to fully relax. These tanks are specifically designed to minimise external stimuli such as light and sound, encouraging a meditative state where the brain can fully unwind.

As you float, magnesium is absorbed through your skin, offering additional benefits like easing muscle tension, soothing joint discomfort, and promoting overall relaxation. Beyond physical relief, this therapy can also reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and enhance mental clarity.

This perfect blend of physical relaxation and mental rejuvenation makes Magnesium Float Therapy an exceptional choice for enhancing overall well-being.

Magnesium Float Benefits

The concept behind magnesium float tanks is to induce a deep relaxation by eliminating external sensory input. When your brain is freed from processing sensory information, it enters a deep meditative state that promotes relaxation and mental clarity. The magnesium in the Epsom Salt also gets absorbed through the skin, offering various health benefits.

Regular sessions in a Float Tank may offer a range of health benefits:

How To Prepare For Your Float Session?

To help you get the most out of your float experience, we've outlined a few simple guidelines to follow before, during, and after your session to ensure a smooth and rejuvenating experience! If you have any other questions regarding the information provided below, feel more than welcome to reach out to the front desk upon the arrival of your appointment.

Before Your Float

Avoid shaving, waxing, or tanning on the day of your float, as the high salt concentration may irritate your skin.

Use the provided Vaseline to cover any small cuts or sensitive areas.

If you have recently dyed your hair, you will not be able to use the float tank.

Do not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol before your session.

Eat about an hour before your session and avoid caffeinated beverages for at least four hours prior to floating, as it can make it difficult to relax

Do not wear any hair or skin products before floating; wash them off during your pre-float shower.

During Your Float

A typical magnesium float session lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the session you choose. You’ll begin with a quick shower to cleanse your skin of any impurities before entering the private pod room. Inside the pod, you can float effortlessly in a serene environment. Whether you prefer to close the pod for complete sensory deprivation or leave it open for a bit more comfort, the choice is yours. The water is kept at skin temperature, ensuring that you can remain comfortable throughout the experience.

The peaceful and distraction-free environment is designed to promote deep relaxation and a meditative state. Some people use this time for meditation, while others simply bask in the profound sense of calm and tranquillity.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your session, you’ll emerge feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and more centred.

After Your Float

After floating, you’ll take another brief shower to rinse off the salt from your skin. We provide complementary bath and body products in the bathroom for your use. To ensure we have ample time to prepare for the next client, we kindly ask that you vacate the bathroom within 15 minutes after your session. Enjoy the lingering sense of calm and relaxation as you go about the rest of your day.
