Revitalise Your Body With

Magnesium Float Therapy

Magnesium floats, also known as sensory deprivation tanks or floatation therapy, offer a unique and powerful way to relax both the body and mind. The magnesium pod contains warm water infused with over 500kg of Epsom salt, creating a buoyant environment that effortlessly supports your body. This high salt concentration reduces pressure on your muscles and joints, allowing them to fully relax. These tanks are specifically designed to minimise external stimuli such as light and sound, encouraging a meditative state where the brain can fully unwind.

As you float, magnesium is absorbed through your skin, offering additional benefits like easing muscle tension, soothing joint discomfort, and promoting overall relaxation. Beyond physical relief, this therapy can also reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and enhance mental clarity.

This perfect blend of physical relaxation and mental rejuvenation makes Magnesium Float Therapy an exceptional choice for enhancing overall well-being.

"Float your stress away and let over 500kg of magnesium work its magic - relax, recovery and rejuvenate in total weightlessness."

How Does Float Therapy Work?

Much of our brainpower is usually spent managing gravity and constantly processing external stimuli such as light and sound. Over time, this continuous input can leave us feeling mentally drained and physically tense.

The concept of magnesium float therapy is to quiet all of the mental chatter, limiting environmental distractions and allowing your body and nervous system to relax. When your brain is freed from processing sensory information, it can enter a deep meditative state that promotes relaxation, mental clarity, and a range of other health benefits.

One of the most transformative effects of floating is its ability to guide you into a theta brainwave state - a dream-like zone where creativity, learning, and imagination can thrive. Typically, reaching this state requires deep meditation or a good night’s sleep, but in the float tank, it can happen far more effortlessly.

The deep relaxation achieved during a float session is a powerful therapeutic tool that supports healing and overall wellness.

On top of all this, our float tank is saturated with magnesium sulphate, offering additional benefits when absorbed through the skin, such as easing muscle tension, soothing joint discomfort and more.

What benefits can regular

Magnesium Float Therapy offer?

01

Stress Relief & Inner Relaxation

Float therapy has been known to reduce cortisol levels and activate the nervous system, promoting deep relaxation and reducing the physical and mental effects of stress.

02

Increased Clarity & Creativity

By eliminating sensory input, float therapy shifts brainwaves into a theta state, associated with heightened mental clarity, creativity, and problem-solving.

03

Enhanced Mood

The release of endorphins during float sessions helps stabilise mood, while the reduction of stress hormones contributes to long-lasting emotional balance.

04

Deeper, More Restful Sleep

Magnesium absorbed through the skin in the float tank may regulate sleep patterns, while sensory deprivation fosters conditions for deep, restorative rest.

05

A Surge in Feel-Good Hormones

Floating may stimulate the release of serotonin and dopamine, the body's natural "feel-good" chemicals, enhancing emotional well-being and reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression.

06

Faster Muscle & Injury Recovery

The high concentration of magnesium in the water reduces inflammation, supports muscle relaxation, and accelerates tissue repair, aiding in faster recovery from injuries and physical strain.

07

Relief from Chronic Pain, Muscle Tension and Discomfort

The buoyant, zero-gravity environment reduces pressure on joints and muscles, relieving chronic pain and tension while promoting better circulation and tissue oxygenation.

08

Elevate Physical Health & Wellbeing

Regular float sessions improve cardiovascular health, reduce inflammation, and promote homeostasis in the body, leading to a holistic improvement in physical health and mental well-being.

How to Prepare For Your Float:

Getting ready to float your stress away? To make sure you have the ultimate relaxation experience, we’ve put together a few easy tips for before, during, and after your session. If you’ve got any questions or need a little extra info, don’t hesitate to chat with us when you arrive. We’re here to help you make the most of your float!

What To Know Before Your Float:

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your session for a smooth sign in and induction process.

  • Towels, bathroom essentials, toiletries and ear buds are provided on the arrival of your session

  • You are welcome to bring swimmers to float in, however float therapy is reportedly best done nude.

What To Avoid Before Floating:

  • It’s best to avoid shaving, waxing, or tanning on the day of your float as the high salt concentration may irritate your skin.

  • No hair or skin products in the tank, please wash them off during your pre-float shower.

  • Please wait at least 2 weeks after dying your hair and 4 weeks after a keratin treatment before floating.

  • (Ladies) If you're menstruating, we kindly ask that you reschedule your float to a later date.

  • Caffeine, alcohol, and other stimulants may interfere with your ability to relax. The goal is to completely let go!

Your Float Experience:

A typical magnesium float session can last anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes - whatever you feel is best for you! Before stepping into the float room, you’ll take a quick shower to rinse away any makeup, oils or dirt from your skin.

Then, it’s time to float. In your private room, you’ll immerse yourself in a pod filled with warm, magnesium-rich water, buoyant enough to let your body float effortlessly. You have full control over your experience—whether you prefer closing the pod for complete sensory deprivation or keeping it open for an added sense of comfort. The water is kept at skin temperature, so you’ll soon forget where your body ends and the water begins.

Inside the pod, time stands still. Some people use the float to meditate, while others simply drift in the peaceful calm, enjoying the weightless sensation. However you choose to spend your session, the goal is the same: to let go, refresh, and emerge feeling renewed.

After Your Float:

After your float, enjoy a quick rinse to wash away any leftover salt. We kindly ask that you wrap up in the bathroom within 15 minutes so we can get things ready for the next guest. And before you go, don’t forget to schedule your next float—we can’t wait to see you again!

Clinical Research and Studies

Of Magnesium Floatation Therapy

REST (Reduced Environmental Stimulation Therapy) was first developed in the 1950s when the National Institute of Mental Health began researching how the brain responds to the absence of sensory input. Float Therapy, often referred to as sensory deprivation, removes all external stimuli, including light, sound, temperature, and touch, allowing the nervous system to enter a state of deep rest.

Over the years, many studies have explored the therapeutic advantages of float therapy. Consistent results show substantial reductions in stress and pain, along with increased relaxation, both pre- and post-session. Additional research has noted decreases in blood pressure, heart rate, and cortisol levels. As of 2020, ongoing research is investigating the long-term benefits of float therapy for conditions like anxiety, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, insomnia, and eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa.

For a comprehensive list of studies, some dating back to the 1960s, see below. We will continue updating this resource as new research on float therapy is published.
