Soapwort is a member of the carnation family of flowering plants. As the name suggests, the plant yields soap-like properties due to a high concentration of saponins found in the roots. Mix with water or herb infusions, powdered soapwort root will product gentle suds, making it useful in preparing bath products

  • Soap: to make your own liquid soap just take about 1 tablespoon of grounded root and add 250ml of water, boil for 30 minutes, then cool and strain. Shampoo: Use 1 tablespoon of Soapwort root and 1 cup of water.
